Brane-Cantenac… a whispering legend

An iconic Second Growth estate celebrated for producing some of the most refined, hauntingly elegant wines in all of Bordeaux.

Henri and Madeleine Lurton

Brane-Cantenac is a masterclass in subtlety.

While others seek power and extraction, Henri Lurton leads with a quiet confidence—creating wines that don't shout, but rather whisper a poem of absolute greatness.

Henri Lurton - 4th gen Owner Château Brane-Cantenac

Built on deep historical gravel terraces and a lineage traced back to the "Napoleon of the Vineyards" Maxime de Brane, this historic estate balances timeless tradition with a fresh, modern perspective brought by the next generation.

Together with Christer, Henri uncorks two landmark vintages: the vibrant, opening 2011 and the legendary, highly acclaimed 2005—a vintage of absolute perfection, tasted on the very day Henri’s late father, Lucien Lurton, would have turned 100.

They also dive into the estate's rare white wine production, optimal food pairings, and a candid conversation on the modern realities facing Bordeaux.

This film is an intimate look at generational succession, gravel terroirs, and the whispering elegance of Brane-Cantenac.
